William Knappenberger MD
Dr. Knappenberger was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA; attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Chemistry, following his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, also from the University of Pittsburgh.
Married to his wife of 40 years, Dr. Knappenberger moved to Florida to attend the University of Florida, Gainesville, for his pediatric training at Shand’s Teaching Hospital. He was recruited to join Pediatrics in Brevard and has been practicing pediatric medicine in Brevard County for 35 years. He has two grown, married children, one of whom is in Virginia, and one here in Brevard.
Dr. Knappenberger has been a child advocate throughout his career, serving as the past director of the Child Protection Team of Brevard, and for nearly three decades, serving as the Medical Director for Children`s Medical Services, a statewide program for children with special health care needs from low income and uninsured families.
He is honored to serve as the pediatrician for prior patients who are now parents and allow him the privilege to care for their children. His free time is spent bicycling, traveling, and engaging in church activities.
